Head anatomy in 3D:
nerves and muscles

Head Nervous system

Head (Nerves and muscles), anterior viewHead (Nerves and muscles), lateral viewHead (Nerves and muscles), posterior viewHead (Nerves and muscles), medial view

The nerves of the head shown with the facial and masticatory muscles they innervate.

The branches of the facial nerve reach the muscles of facial expression from their deep surface, whereas the motor branches of the mandibular nerve supply the masseter, temporalis and the medial and lateral pterygoid muscles. The extraocular muscles are innervated by the oculomotor, trochlear and abducens nerves.
