Head Nervous system

Head (Nerves), anterior viewHead (Nerves), lateral viewHead (Nerves), posterior viewHead (Nerves), medial view

The peripheral nerves of the head, including the branches of the trigeminal and facial nerves.

The trigeminal nerve (CN V) provides sensory innervation to the face through its ophthalmic, maxillary and mandibular divisions, and motor fibres to the muscles of mastication. The facial nerve (CN VII) exits through the stylomastoid foramen and divides within the parotid gland into temporal, zygomatic, buccal, marginal mandibular and cervical branches.
