Trunk Cardiovascular system

Heart (Atria and Ventricles), anterior viewHeart (Atria and Ventricles), lateral viewHeart (Atria and Ventricles), posterior viewHeart (Atria and Ventricles), medial view

The internal chambers of the heart, with the atria, ventricles, septa and valves.

The right atrium receives blood from the venae cavae and passes it through the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle, which pumps it into the pulmonary trunk through the pulmonary valve. The left atrium receives the pulmonary veins, and blood flows through the mitral valve into the left ventricle, which pumps it into the aorta through the aortic valve.
