The heart with its innervation, including the cardiac plexus and the conduction system.

The cardiac plexus receives sympathetic fibres from the cervical and thoracic sympathetic trunks, which increase heart rate and contractility, and parasympathetic fibres from the vagus nerves, which slow it. The intrinsic conduction system consists of the sinoatrial node, the atrioventricular node, the atrioventricular bundle and its branches.
