Anatomy 3D Atlas

Trunk anatomy in 3D:
arteries and veins

Trunk Cardiovascular system

Trunk (Arteries and Veins), anterior viewTrunk (Arteries and Veins), lateral viewTrunk (Arteries and Veins), posterior viewTrunk (Arteries and Veins), medial view

The arteries and veins of the trunk: the aorta and its branches, the venae cavae and their tributaries.

The aorta ascends from the left ventricle, forms the aortic arch and descends through the thorax and abdomen, dividing into the common iliac arteries at the level of the fourth lumbar vertebra. The superior vena cava drains the head, neck and upper limbs, while the inferior vena cava drains the lower body; both empty into the right atrium.
