Trunk Lymphatic system

Trunk (Lymphatic system), anterior viewTrunk (Lymphatic system), lateral viewTrunk (Lymphatic system), posterior viewTrunk (Lymphatic system), medial view

The lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels of the trunk, including the thoracic duct.

The thoracic duct begins at the cisterna chyli in the abdomen, ascends through the thorax and empties into the junction of the left subclavian and internal jugular veins. Lymph from the trunk passes through groups of nodes such as the para-aortic, mesenteric, mediastinal and tracheobronchial nodes.
